A girl and her robot

Ada and Daddy Gilbert built her very first robot. It's a catbot that follows green things. It has a tail that swishes. It still has a few bugs to work out, like the part about following green things, but it does a bunch of other things, too.

Our daughter's first robot. You could cut the parental pride around here with a knife.

Get her off it now, or she'll never stop. She'll become a junkie!

OH, yea, sure... first hits free. But where will it stop?

IT WON'T.

Next thing you know, she'll ask for a book on C. Then on Ada. She'll be hiding icons for robolab off her desktop, thinking you won't notice.

An OOPIC here, a Stamp there? It's only a small hit. Can't harm anything.

Then she's swiping money for some hi-torque digital servos.

Staying out all night gryoscoping at some "array."

Next thing you know, she wants to go out with some sugar daddy named "Dave" who will give her some free sonar modules if she just "volunteers for him at this Game he puts on."

It will all end up with her in a dimly lit room in Cambridge, fiddling over humanoids at 2 in the morning, having gone days without sleeping, forever trying to get back that cherry high she got the first from obstacle avoidance.

STOP THE MADNESS NOW. YOU'RE ONLY HARMING YOUR BABY. IT WILL NOT END WELL.

God, it's probably already too late.
